autumn basics

Another glorious Sunday isn't it! This post will feature a couple of my favourite autumn basics. If you're anything like me winter means only one thing, laziness. Yes I said it. If i'm just chilling, or out and about, the last thing I want to do is wake up on a cosy Sunday morning... and have to make loads of effort, it doesn't mean i'll get dressed in the dark but there are a few ways around this problem, Items I can wear for those lazy days when I still want to look fab!

First item being this lipstick by Maybelline. May I start off by saying that maybelline is probably my favourite drug store brand for lipstick, the quality is there, like really there and the max you will pay is £7. They have a matte collection in stores at the moment which are amazing, I picked up this shade called 'Divine Wine' from Superdrug. I think i've touched down on this in another post, or video that the Maybelline lipsticks apply so well, complete coverage(they are very opaque) and lasting wear, even as a matte shade it is very easy and smooth to apply. I'm rambling. You know those days where you can't be bothered for much makeup? Grab this dang lipstick, apply to yo lips, and it makes ALL the difference, a showstopper. It also adds a lot of flare to any plain outfit, thus today's OOTD.

My next item, is this black checked skirt by Newlook, an autumn staple may I add; I got this one from Asos it was only £22.99, nothing makes me happier than extremely good quality for a reasonable price, this skirt is so thick and warm! Skirts are a good thing you can just throw on, throw on a skirt, a plain top, tight and boots...you are pretty much guaranteed a cute outfit. I paired mine with a black Primark rollneck, tights, and last season Zara boots. It synchs in at the waist and is slightly a line giving me an hour glass shape; I'm tall, with shape but hardly any chest so this style of skirt tends to fit me well and looks in proportion. It also fits length wise, hallelujah. To all my tall girls(no pun intended) you feel me when it comes to shopping for jeans/skirts, we need a bit of dignity too right?

I wore this outfit out today for some shopping and a walk round the river with my Mum, it was super cosy and flattering, and all I did was chuck on a skirt and some lipstick. How pretty is the river, I saw at least 5 other people with cameras, gahhh I just love this time of year!

Do I look hat in this?

Hello everyone, good day from rainy England (I low key love it)! Today I thought i'd share with you a quick outfit/lifestyle post all about my favourite colours and accessories.

It's that time of year, my favourite time of year, autumn. We all know how much everyone loves this season; candles, PSL, blankets, mf movie days, I could go on forever...with that being said lets move on to my outfit. I much prefer Primark's winter stock to their summer so I've been in there quite a few times this past couple of months, I picked up a few of these bobble hats which I am obsessing over, I'm going through a mustard faze at the moment so of course this was the most obvious option and then I got a black too, at only £2.50 why not! They also come in a few other colours. I feel like beanies without a bobble make my head looks so stumpy *laughs* so I guess the bobble helps to elongate my head? My mum has always said you lose most heat through your head 'wear a hat in the winter' she said, I never listened, mama, this year, I'm taking your advice girl. My jeans are from Missguided, previous season and my trainers *ahem* are in fact mens...i'm not sorry, I can't be sorry I just have big feet(7-8 women's size). I got these from Primark too to literally just wear to the airport as I put a hole in my ONLY other pair of good Nike trainers the day before I flew, the women's trainers just didn't do it for me so I got these to kick about in, they can get dirty or whatever because they were only cheap. That's another thing on my list though, trainers. I never really wear them because I feel like they make me look stumpy and masculine.

We had an incredible brunch at our local pavilion in the park, we sat on the patio in the crisp air and warmed our lips with coffees and hot chocolates. I indudge in moment like these because i'm a person that loves the little things, I'm looking forward to more days like this here in my home town and the city! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Finding myself in London and Mustard ensemble

Happy Monday everyone, despite that Monday feeling we all most likely have, isn't it great to be alive! I'm sat writing this whilst in bed, it's raining and so peaceful! I'm going through a phase of being bored in my home town which you may have picked up on from all of these London blog posts, It's really important to take time and do things that make you happy, especially if you're ever feeling lost, bored, lonely, or unfulfilled. For me it's the discontent, I feel like a nobody here, I'm bored of what my town has to offer, and i'm bored of the person I am in this town...I wear whatever the hell I want to London, and I like the sense of freedom I have when i'm there. There are so many people in the city and although none of them know who I am, and will probably never see me again I feel observed. This must sound awfully vain but it's not intended... I could even pin point it down to a lady walking past , I catch her looking at my shirt and she nods in acknowledgement, an instance where in my home town someone would usually turn their nose up at me. Fashion in the city is appreciated, culture is appreciated, I am appreciated and there is nothing wrong in taking pride in that, I find a new sense of confidence and contentment when I am there. There are two quotes, or lyrics by Taylor swift in her song Welcome to NewYork- 'everybody here was someone else before, and you can want who you want' and 'Everybody here wanted something more, searching for a sound we hadn't heard before. She's a lyrical genius. I find those two lyrics so relevant to myself and if you haven't heard the song then I recommend you have a listen, listen to the lyrics and you will feel how I feel as soon as I step foot off that train at St Pancras station.

London is a magical place for me, I'm having new adventures there every weekend and it sounds silly and maybe others reading this won't understand, but I come home feeling self assured, and it's a great feeling. There are places, cities, people, out there waiting for you, waiting to meet you. Please go and find them!

If you're here for the fashion then read this bit *laughs*, I'm wearing my shirt I bought from the Portobellogirl vintage stall which I wrote about last week, you can read all about it here! My skirt is from Missguied a year or so back, it was about £20 and believe me when I say I have gotten the wear out of it, this skirt goes with everything! The platform sandals are from Zara and if i'm right are now reduced to £9.99 in stores! My bag is from NewLook and Sunglasses from Primark. I'm wearing a lot of colour now especially when I'm in London and I love it! This Saturday I went for all tan and mustard, I love this little get up so much, it's quirky and classy! Obviously it was impossible to resist an outfit post outside one of Notting Hill's cute little rainbow houses. I went to Portobello road again with Leah and I had a really nice coconut...oh so candid *pretends camera isn't there*.

3 Reasons I love London

Reason no.1: The fashion.

It is known to everyone that London is one of the fashion capitals of the world. The thing about cities is that there is always something new, and a sense of freedom when it comes to what you wear, I find i'm a lot more bold when I outfit plan for the city, often, in my town if you wear something just slightly out of the ordinary you get looked at as if you're stush...not the case. I had so many kind strangers stop me on the street this Sunday and complimenting me on how nice I looked, a compliment is nice but it was the gesture, a sense of acceptance and belonging that warmed me!

As you know I work with Jones and Jones UK a lot as a blogger, and this Sunday I went to view their Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection at Pure London. It.is.insane. I was speaking to the lovely Sandy who is part of the marketing team about how much I love the brand, because I never put anything on my website I do not love or would not wear myself so believe me, have a look at how many J&J posts I have on here and go figure... In the winter collection you will see a range of gorgeous winter colours- plush pink satins, christmas reds, party sparkles, berry purples and contemporary blacks!

We are also hosting a giveaway very soon so make sure you stay updated with all my social medias which you can find here!

Reason no.2: Incredible people.

What I didn't mention was that I'm not particulary a huge fan on Pure London.. the event itself is fab and the seminars and shows are such fun and great to watch. However...my first ever time there was ruined by some particular brands who obviously took a disliking to me and were so unnecessarily rude, but hey I'm not everyone's cup of tea? I daren't ever look at any of their stands because you receive a death glare *laughs* even though it's and INDUSTRY ONLY event, some highly snobbish people will always look at you like you're trash. Everyone wants to know who you are, what do you do, and why you are there. It's not that everyone is rude to me, but I don't know, when I'm there i don't feel particularly comfortable, and i'm a confident person.

This is going somewhere I promise...

But anyway I decided after seeing J&J and watching a quick seminar that I'd head to Portobello road, I hadn't been there in ages and my mum said their Sunday vintage markets were good. I'd found the cutest stall with an array of the beautiful vintage garments some of which were hung on pearl hangers(I liked this) 'I'm going to take a picture of you in my shop for Instagram' I turn around and was greeted by the loveliest lady, a stylist, and owner of the stall Portobello Girl. We introduced ourselves and stood talking for ages, it was refreshing to meet somebody so kind and genuinly interested in my life and what I do, especially after being at a place I formally felt quite isolated(pure London) she kindly took some photos on my camera so I could share with you guys, it was fun! I bought the cutest shirt from her also which I'll be wearing this Saturday, so i'll show you all in a separate post, it is beautiful! It's just very fascinating to me, how many interesting and beautfiul people there are in this world, and how you can meet them in the strangest of places. You see this stuff happen in films...but it also happens in the city!

Reason 3: Best Friends... Mon and Leah meet Gossip Girl

I love going to London with my mum of all people, she used to work in London from the age of 17/18, she is a London expert, she knows who, what, and where and how to get everywhere it's crazy! She really does know the City like the back of her hand (she's not like a regular mum she's a cool mum) lets hope you get the reference. But my joint favourite person to explore London with is my best friend Leah! I ended up crashing her family meal on Sunday after i'd finished galavanting round by myself, this time we only ventured as far as Leister Square, we sat by the fountain, drank pepsi and laughed at the fact a pigeon had shat on my shoulder earlier that day, i'm crying inside! But whether were getting lost in the city, or doing shit all in the city, we always have the best time. Some of my favourite ever memories are in the London with Leah.

Memory one: My mum and nan took my whole friendship group to London, we went to dinner at Bella Italia- Leah ate a WHOLE lasagne made for two people.

Memory two: Me and Leah go to London for 1Xtra Live, just turned 18 and I had forgotten my ID, we watch completely sober and danced awkwardly to 2 chainz.

Memory three: Christmas in London, photo booths in Topshop, Winter Wonderland, and mauled Wine that tasted like piss. It 'snowed' above the Boots Oxford street store, it was magical!

Memory Four: I had a magazine event and Leah decides to meet me after for drinks, we meet at St Pancras and drink strawberry daiquiri from a can(big up M&S) and head to the only bar left open at this time of night, we get trollied and end up being up all night and then catching a 6:30 train home the next morning.

Memory Five: I have anxiety attack the day I'm meant to be going to fashion week alone, I phone leah in tears and she agrees to come with me for support...she's a good friend. We end up being invited to an interview and show by the sponsors of fashion week- Sunglasses Hut and had the most amazing day.

Having your best friend to share these experiences with is truly amazing, If you don't live too far from London or even if you do, GO! At this age most of us are so bored of our hometowns and there are so many amazing places out there you need to go and see, go and make some amazing memories!

Please let me know what your favourite memories in London are in the comments, thanks for reading if you made it all the way to the end!

Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress

Happy Sunday everybody, wishing you all a happy weekend! This post comes to you from the  Bedford Business awards last Thursday, a local awards night dedicated to businesses within the area. I thought i'd show you what I wore to the evening so yes, it's that time again...i'm back with another Jones and Jones post! P.S If there are any swifties reading then I gather you understand the reference of the title; possibly one of my favourite lyrics ever, nothing beats the feeling of spinning in a new dress!

There are already tonnes and tonnes of reviews of their dresses on my blog which you can find here, where I tell you all about how much I LOVE them, so I won't babble on. But I must say this is one of my favourite dresses I own from the brand, I've never worn one with a tulle skirt and it's just so beautiful, If you watch my channel videos also you'll know I love any clothing with movement, and this dress has plenty! The blue is such a great summer colour too, I love the contrast of the skirt against the cream bodice and silver band. There is nothing I love more than a full skirt and perfectly fitting bodice. These dresses are perfect for special occasions, events, birthdays, and even casual wear; I have many that I dress down with jackets and boots and I always get so many compliments.

The quality is amazing, and it's not something you see everybody wearing, they make you feel so special! I'll end the writting here before I get carried away, I hope you enjoy the following photos!

Much Love

Double Denim

Sundays are always my most casual days, I touched down in ikea with the parents today(wild!) so i just opted for something comfy and cute; since it was a lovely spring day I went for the double denim! I found these amazing jeans in Zara for £29.99, now, as a high-waisted jean lover this was a big step for me, these are low-mid rise and may I say I actually much prefer the fit minus the fact I have bigger rolls in these when I sit down...ya feel me. But despite that they are a gorgeous soft denim, and a light-dark denim colour making them very easy to wear with a lot of colours. With jeans it's all about comfort for me, if I can't breathe or bend down without the fear of them splitting open and displaying my thong to the world then it's a no from me.

My top is also from Zara, absoloute shocker I know...if you're a regular reader I'm sure you're sat rolling your eyes *laughs* it is trimmed with eyelash lace and the super lightweight fabric makes for great summer wear. This is actually the first time I've worn this top, my mum actually got this one for me for the big 2 0 last year. Something about Tan and Denim just makes my heart happy, it's like chips and ketchup. It works.

My shirt is by Waven Studio who are a contemporary denim company, I styled up this shirt in a blogpost last year which you can check out here!
I love this shirt so much, it' so simple but it goes with almost anything. I always wear it un-buttoned and then wear a top underneath and this way I can re wear it as much as I like and play around with different combos. They're such a sick company so definitely go check them out here (you can also find them on Asos).

My belt is Primark, and my shoes are from Topshop. Believe me when i say I live in these shoes, they are the comfiest shoes I own and they look good with everything. These exact ones aren't available now but they have an almost identical pair with a heel this season but with a gold buckle so I will try and link those! Lastly my necklace is from Forever 21, this was featured in my recent summer jewellery post if you want to check that out too.
